Special pick-up of leaves and green waste on May 5
With the introduction of organic waste pick-ups in September 2016, changes were made to some collections, including those of green waste and dead leaves. Consequently, with the introduction of the brown bin, spring pick-ups of dead leaves were eliminated. This has apparently created a degree of confusion with some residents.
Exceptionally, to remedy this situation, a special pick-up of leaves and green waste in clear or orange plastic bags only will be held on Friday, May 5.
It should be noted, however, that from now on, dead leaves in plastic bags will be picked up on 6 specific dates (shown in your municipal calendar and the guide on organic waste pick-ups, both of which were distributed to your residence), i.e. on October 16, 23 and 30 and November 6, 13 and 20, 2017.
Throughout the year, green waste (including dead leaves) can be picked up every Monday along with the brown bin, as follows:
- Place your green waste in one or more reusable container identified by a sticker for this purpose. You can obtain additional stickers from the Public Works Department.
- Place your green waste in large paper bags or directly in the brown bin.
- You can also drop off your green waste at the ecocentre during its business hours.
