Christmas Magic in Rosemère
ROSEMÈRE,
Tuesday, November 21, 2017– December 8-10, Christmas magic will be settling
into downtown Rosemère, with the Christmas market and festivities. This event,
organized by the Town of Rosemère,
in cooperation with Place Rosemère and Jeunesse Action Rosemère, will be taking
place mainly at Memorial Community Centre. Rosemère families, come one, come
all to take part in this festive activity in order to launch the holiday
season.
The Christmas market will be opening at 6 p.m.
on Friday, December 8 at the Memorial Community Centre, 202 Grande-Côte Road. Starting at
6:15 p.m., residents will have a chance to get their torches for the
traditional walk that will get under way at 7 p.m. in the train station
parking lot. The walkers will head for the Memorial Community Centre to mark
the official opening of these festivities. Visitors who would like to warm up
to the familiar holiday tunes or come and check out the exhibitors' stands at
the market, will be treated to music and other entertainment. Please note that
due to this event, Grande-Côte Road will be closed to motor vehicle traffic
6:30 p.m. - 9:30 p.m., from Couture Street to Labelle Boulevard.
During the weekend, visitors will have a chance to
take advantage of a wide range of activities that have been planned and are
bound to please children and grown-ups. On Saturday, December 9, at the
Memorial Community Centre, Rosemerites will have the opportunity to go and meet
Santa, in a musical atmosphere created by the Orchestre symphonique des jeunes
de Rosemère. For children, there will be two presentations of the show Le génie de Noël—11 a.m. and
1 p.m.—by Les Fabulateurs. There will also be two choir performances,
one by the Petit Chœur de Rosemère at
2 p.m., and the other at 7:30 p.m., at Sainte-Françoise-Cabrini
church. As for the market, it will be open 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. and will
feature some twenty exhibitors who will be offering a wide variety of local
products, such as sweets, jewellery, beauty products, accessories and
decorations of all kinds.
And lastly, the market will open on Sunday,
December 10, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m., and the Rosemère Big Band will be
closing the festivities with a musical performance at Sainte-Françoise-Cabrini
church, starting at 4 p.m.
Eric Westram, the Mayor of Rosemère, is inviting
Rosemerites to participate in the festivities during this special weekend.
"The walk and the Christmas festivities are events that provide an
opportunity to bring residents together to discover beautiful products
presented by the exhibitors at the market, some of whom are local crafts
workers. I am inviting the population to join us at this festive event, which
is a well-known tradition in Rosemère and which will give everyone a chance to
enjoy the magic of the holiday season," added the Mayor.
