H.-J.-Hemens Library: 10 years already…with much more!
The current premises of Rosemère’s H.-J.-Hemens Library have been open 10 years already…with much more! Not only more subscribers but more services as well!
Innovations over the years
Over the past ten years,
it’s offered something for the entire family: free wireless access, e-books,
sections dedicated to books on art, a kiddie corner, a mobile library for
seniors, an online catalogue, and much more.
Coffee corner, ongoing news, and amnesty for late
returns
Mayor Madeleine Leduc points
out that the tremendous evolution in services provided by the library results
from a constant concern for innovation. "For example, to mark the 10th
anniversary, we are adding a coffee corner for subscribers who wish to relax
while reading or studying, along with a screen airing ongoing news items for
those who want to know what’s going on in the world and in our Town. We are
also offering an amnesty on late returns throughout the month of October, to
subscribers who have past-due documents,” she noted, while emphasizing this
last item.
Activities and random
draw
In addition to a program of highly captivating
activities scheduled throughout the month of October, the 10th
anniversary of the renovated premises also provides a welcome opportunity to
hold a draw for a poster marking the second Olympic victory of Rosemère native
Alexandre Bilodeau, who took home his second Olympic gold medal in freestyle
skiing at the Winter Games held in Sochi this past February.
The library has
proven itself
Rosemerites can rightfully be proud of their municipal
library, which has, yet again, ranked first among the Regroupement des bibliothèques de Laval-Laurentides-Lanaudière
(Laval-Laurentian-Lanaudière Library Group) in terms of overall performance for
2013!
"We hope that Rosemerites will express their pride in having a modern, well-appointed library by making the most of its many different possibilities, not only during this month of festivities, but at all times,” concluded Mayor Madeleine Leduc and librarian Marc Bineault in a single voice.
