Throughout the Town, it is prohibited to pollard, prune excessively, girdle, or poison a tree whose trunk has a diameter of 5 cm or more at a height of 1.3 meters above the ground. The removal of a tree is subject to obtaining a permit issued by the Permits and Inspections Department. If the request is justified under municipal tree regulations, the permit is issued within fourteen business days.
Check your municipal calendar for exact dates, or call the Public Works Department, at 450 621-3500 ext. 3300. Branches should be placed by the roadside before these dates. Outside these periods, residents can bring their branches to the Ecocentre themselves. This rule does not apply to vacant lots and those under construction.
