Under the Act to secure handicapped persons in the exercise of their rights with a view to achieving social, school and workplace integration (chapter E‑20.1), municipalities with 10,000 residents or more are required to prepare and implement an annual action plan aimed at:
- identifying and reducing barriers to the integration of persons with disabilities;
- promoting equal rights and full social participation;
- improving universal accessibility in municipal services, infrastructure and communications.
The
Town of Rosemère has chosen to adopt such a plan in order to position itself as
an inclusive and accessible community for all its residents.
The plan was adopted at the council meeting of January 19, 2026.
