Guignolée food drive in Rosemère: A Tradition of Making a Difference in the Community!

The annual Guignolée food drive in Rosemère on Saturday, November 29, was a remarkable success again this year. Thanks to the dedication of more than 230 volunteers and the generosity of the community, a record $37,562 in cash donations and 218 boxes of non-perishable food items were collected for families in need. Two organizations were instrumental in this effort: the Corporation de développement culturel et sportif de Rosemère, which contributed $5,000, and Jeunesse Action Rosemère, whose members assisted with the collection and provided lunch for the volunteers.

“The participation of so many Rosemère residents once again shows how strong our community is,” said Mayor Marie-Elaine Pitre. “The amazing results highlight the generosity, compassion and commitment to helping one another that unite us. My sincere thanks go out to all those who played a part in bringing everything together so beautifully, as well as to my fellow town council members for their engagement. Together, we’ve done something real and important for families who need a helping hand. Thank you for this wonderful act of kindness.”

As always, donated food items will be used by the Service d’aide alimentaire Saint-Maurice, Paroisse Saint-Luc, to prepare Christmas baskets, and cash donations will be handed over to Entraide Rosemère to purchase and distribute food vouchers. All contributions received through the Guignolée will have a direct impact on local families in need and make their holidays a little brighter.
