Open House Events at Both Fire Stations
Budding firefighters, the alarm is ringing! The Blainville fire department invites members of the public to open house events at both of the City’s fire stations on Saturday, October 4, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., rain or shine.
There will be several family-friendly activities to enjoy on site, including a presentation on the vehicles and equipment used by the firefighters, face-painting, a fire prevention booth, a scavenger hunt developed by Les Éditions Petites Mines and a mascot. And that’s not all! There will also be an inflatable slide set up at Fire Station 7 (310 Bas-de-Sainte-Thérèse Road), and Fire Station 8 (790 De La Mairie Street) will give a walking tour of the facilities and let attendees explore the mobile fire prevention unit.
“This event is always a big hit with the public and represents an ideal opportunity to learn more about the firefighting world,” said Blainville fire chief Claude Deschuymer. “All our visitors, from the youngest to the oldest, will have the chance to handle the equipment, climb aboard the trucks and talk to our firefighters and prevention team members to hear what their top safety tips are. Our crews are always proud to show where and how they work.”
We hope to see many of you there!
