Reconstruction work continues on the Île Bélair bridge
The Ministère des Transports et de la Mobilité durable would like to inform the public that reconstruction work on the Île Bélair bridge (Route 117) in Rosemère will resume on April 28. The rest of the work consists mainly of assembling the prefabricated parts, asphalting the roadway and laying the new multi-purpose path on the east side. Work is scheduled to continue until summer 2025. The bridge and the river waterway will then be fully reopened to traffic.
Ultimately, the new bridge will feature two traffic lanes in each direction, as well as a multi-purpose path on the east side connected to the municipal network, to provide users with a safe active transportation link.
Traffic management
Until completion of work :
- Closure of the northbound direction of Route 117 (Labelle Blvd.), on the Île Bélair bridge, with traffic diverted onto the opposite carriageway, leaving one lane per direction.
- The speed limit remains reduced to 50 km/h in the work zone.
- Navigation on the Rivière des Mille-Îles is not possible under the Île Bélair bridge; waterway users can, however, pass under the Marius-Dufresne bridge.
Work may be postponed, extended or cancelled due to adverse weather conditions or operational constraints.
The Ministère thanks road users for their cooperation. For the safety of both road users and workers, it is essential to respect the signage in place.
