Spotlight on outstanding Rosemerites: Athletes and Business Leaders Honoured

During a ceremony held in the H.J. Hemens Public Library on June 19, 2025, Mayor Eric Westram invited two young athletes and three business leaders to sign the Town of Rosemère’s Golden Book. Also in attendance were friends and families of the honourees and other members of Rosemère’s Town Council.

In his opening remarks, Mayor Westram said, “We are proud of what you have achieved and we wanted to do something special to acknowledge your accomplishments. You are setting an example for everyone in the community, inspiring others to follow in your footsteps and serving as true ambassadors for our town. Your signature in the Golden Book shows that you have made a difference in Rosemère and sparked a sense of pride in us all.”

The newest Golden Book signatories are:

Ann-Laurence Dutil, women’s hockey

Ann-Laurence and her team, the Étoiles Laurentides-Lanaudière M18 AAA, won the provincial women’s hockey championship (2025 Chevrolet Cup) and went on to represent Quebec at the national level (2025 Esso Cup).

Mahée Bellemare, artistic gymnastics

Mahée won several accolades in the 2024–2025 season, including a team silver at the Canadian gymnastics championships in Calgary, where she finished in second place overall in the women’s Level 9 competition. She also came first in uneven bars in the Quebec championships at Mégagym in Blainville.

Sandra Bureau and Jo Circé, franchisees of Pacini restaurants in Rosemère, Saint-Jérôme and Marché Central (Montreal)

Last fall, this entrepreneurial couple were named the 2024 franchisees of the year during the Gala Maillon d’or held by the Conseil québécois de la franchise, in recognition of their operational excellence and brand commitment.

Jean-Pierre Larochelle, associate dealer of the Canadian Tire store in Rosemère

Jean-Pierre received a Dealer Award of Excellence from the Canadian Tire Corporation in 2024 for his focus on community involvement and retail performance. He currently chairs the Board of the Directors of La Fondation Bon départ de Canadian Tire du Québec and serves as a director for the Base de plein air Bon départ.

About the Golden Book

Rosemère’s Golden Book is intended to serve as a record of the visits made to the Town by important guests as well as the noteworthy achievements of residents who have distinguished themselves in a given field. The signatures in the Golden Book are a special part of the Town’s legacy and stand as a time capsule for future Rosemerites to enjoy.
